The MusiCrew

Who plays?

My super talented friends bring my songs to life.  I call them the MusiCrew.

Jay Rowe: Jazz piano, keyboard, and my friend from high school.  As a youth, Jay quickly became part of the New Haven live music and Jazz scene, with Connecticut natives and friends Marion Meadows and Rohn Lawrence. He formed a band that began playing as an opening act for whatever smooth and contemporary jazz acts that played in New Haven, including The Rippingtons, David Benoit, Bela Fleck, Stanley Jordan, and Jeff Lorber. He attended New England Conservatory of Music majoring in Jazz performance.    When sax player Marion Meadows got his record deal and went out on the road, he took Jay with him as part of his band. His Christmas album "Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas" promises to be a classic. He is now touring with Acoustic Alchemy. Don't miss those shows....Visit: http://www.JayRoweMusic.com

Andy Abel: Brilliant Guitarist from Trumbull CT. Andy has performed with a host of luminaries in the music business including: Dave Valentin, Chieli Minucci, Chuck Loeb, Marion Meadows, Paul Taylor and Jessy J., Jay Rowe, as well as with world renowned songwriter Chip Taylor (Wild Thing, Angel Of The Morning). Also with Late Night drummer Anton Fig and Bruce Hornsby's David Mansfield. Andy's shared the stage with songwriters Toni Wine (Groovy Kind of Love) and Irwin Levine (Tie a Yellow Ribbon) and Vince Gill.Wow.  https://www.andyabel.com/

Brian Dunne Drums: Brian plays with Daryl Hall and Hall and Oats.., he is both brilliant and thoughful.  I, love working with him.  Check him out..., 'cause he is amazing.... http://www.briandunnedrums.com

Rohn Lawrence:  Rohn remains a New Haven legend even after passing away suddenly in December of 2021.  A fixture of the Elm City’s music scene, with a career that spanned decades and took him across the country and back again, Lawrence captivated audiences with an astonishingly versatile style that encompassed jazz, rock, R&B, pop, and metal, ranging from fiery and driving, to joyously swinging, to lyrically peaceful, always in the service of the music that surrounded him..  I coudn't believe he was coming to my house to record.  RIP Rohn.

Bob Nunno: Bob earned his Master’s degree in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University.  He has taught in his hometown of Milford Ct. from 1991 to present day.  He’s teaches teaches the “joy that music brings.” to all ages, from Pre K to High School.  When he’s not teaching, he’s working as a freelance musician, playing his saxophone with the tri-state area’s top bands.  Bob has numerous playing and recording credits, and I love having Bob on our MusiCrew.

Carol Topitzer Vocals, Wayne Kenyon Drums: for twenty-three years Carol and Wayne and I played church service every Sunday.  I wrote most of this music while working with them.  They are thoughtful loving players.  I would not have written so much music were it not for their spirit of open musical churchy experimentation. You are the best!

Gary Lunn is a Nashville legend and a deep man of faith.  If you look him up, you will know what I mean.  I am stunned and grateful having him play a some of my tunes.  Thank you Gary.
